Sacramental Prep

Parents and Godparents of children younger than 7 are required to attend a class before their child is baptized. Classes occur every month. 

Children who have been baptized in the Roman Catholic Church, and are in 1st or 2nd grade may register for Catechesis of the Good Shepherd level II. Classes usually occur twice a month. Most children are ready for their First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion after 2 years in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd level II. Because we follow a family catechesis model, parents are required to attend Parent Night's throughout the year as well as continue the faith formation process at home utilizing resources and activities provided by catechists. Parent Orientation is in August and sessions take place on either Wednesdays or Thursdays beginning in September. There is a yearly tuition of $100 for this program.  

Children who have been baptized in the Roman Catholic Church, and are in 3rd-12th grade may register for Reconciliation Prep. Classes usually occur twice a month on Tuesdays from September-May and ends with a First Reconciliation Service. Following their First Reconciliation, children will be automatically enrolled in Eucharist Prep which meets the following September-May. When Eucharist Prep is completed, children will receive their First Holy Communion. Because we follow a family catechesis model, parents are required to attend Parent Night's throughout the year as well as continue the faith formation process at home utilizing resources and activities provided by catechists. Parent Orientation is in September. There is a yearly tuition of $100 for this program.

*Students who have completed Reconciliation Prep at another parish should contact the Religious Education Office for transfer information.

Youth who are at least in 9th grade and have received the Sacrament of Eucharist may register for the Journey program for Confirmation Prep. Classes occur on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month. Because we follow a family catechesis model, parents are required to attend one session a month as well as continue the faith formation process at home utilizing resources and activities provided by catechists. There is a yearly tuition of $130 for this program.

Children, youth and adults with any special needs may register for this program. Garden of Flowers is especially adapted for every person’s needs and requirements so they are prepared to receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation, Holy Eucharist and/or Confirmation. Sessions are every other Thursday at 5:30pm. We ask for a tuition of $25 for this program.  

This program for all adults who were baptized Catholic and are actively participating in their faith by attending Sunday Mass but were never confirmed. If besides the Sacrament of Confirmation, you are also missing the Sacrament of Eucharist, please let us know so that you are prepared to receive your First Holy Communion as well. Sessions are every other Thursday at 7:00 pm beginning in September. There is a yearly tuition of $75 for this program.
